Slacker

Oh!  Hello Blog (and handful of blog followers)!

I have lots to post and much to say, but summer is crazy and I have put you on the back burner.
Let's make a deal, I'll try to take an hour everyday (or every other day) and inform you on all that is going on, and you can make me look interesting. Deal?
I have tons of pictures to post, as we have been on many adventures, plus Rivers has gotten so big and so cute and so smart and so funny.  Plus I have a new niece.

So, in closing, blog, I just want you to know I haven't forgotten about you, and we can catch up real soon

Take Care

April

So, I've gotten behind... again... Story of my life. To catch up I'm doing posts by month, for now. Lack of an afternoon nap has really cut into my blog time. I've always wanted to be one of those super cool bloggers who post everyday all the cool everyday stuff I do. Maybe when Rivers gets older, but for now I just want to make sure I remember things that are going on in our lives, because Life is Awesome

Made paper lanterns with my YW... they looked cool but didn't fly :(

Mastered my yummy, healthy home made pizza

Went to the Red and White game with Scott's sister and family

Saw the Jazz make it into the playoffs :)

Rivers got his first hair cut.  He's clearly thrilled,

But he looks so handsome :)
Easter gets it's only little spot in this post.
Rivers is spoiled, He got great Easter gifts from both sets of Grandparents,
and a pretty big haul from us.
He's my only child I feel fine with it

Also my Best Friend Laura and super great friend Sarah came to town for Easter and I got to spend some much needed time with them! I am so lucky to have such great friends.  I miss my Lala a lot, and I was so happy to spend the night with her talking and catching up.  She invited us to her family Easter party and it was by far the most intense Easter party I have ever been too!  Her family hid 30 DOZEN (!) eggs in her grandma's back yard.  Some with cash and toy prizes that you redeemed after.  Rivers walked with 25 cents and 3 fun toys and a full belly from all the food.  We may go to the hunt again next year :)

Gardening

So we are lucky enough to have a bit of earth to plant a garden in. This year we have beets, carrots, onions, and peas.  Scott is a really good gardener and takes such good care of the garden.  Dont' worry Rivers helped.

After the garden was all planted, we needed to water it, and this is where the fun really happened.  We decided to let bubs play in the sprinklers!  He loved it!!  He mostly wanted to drink the water (it's tap water so it's safe I checked before) and my sweet little guy threw a fit after when I made him come inside and go to bed.  But the photos are priceless!

His whole front side is soaked!

We're excited for Spring and I'll get some Easter photos up as soon as I upload them :)

Saint Patricks Day!

So, my family is Irish, well part Irish, but that's enough to cause a celebration!  We had a packed St. Patricks day this year.
Highlight's:
Rivers awesome hat.
Rivers dancing to Irish music at the Irish festival in Salt Lake.
Corn beef for EVERY meal
Spending the day with my dad
Lots of dogs at the st. Patrick's day parade (we love parades, Rivers loves dogs)
Seeing MY WHOLE FAMILY that's a tough one to do, ever.
Showing off my dislike for cabbage and Irish soda bread (they're just so yucky)

Cutest little leprechaun ever!!

Surprisingly he left the hat on for most of the day

Corn beef dinner.  Yum!
I made our traditional Corn Beef dinner with pistachio pudding for dessert, it was yummy and Scott loves left overs.
What a great day to be Irish!

Pi day!

So my company banquet was on Pi Day (3/14) so I didn't  make pot pies like I planned, but I did make an amazing 'Smores pie that was awesome!  I found the recipe on Pinterest. What would I do with out Pinterest?

So much yummy chocolate marshmallow goodness. I'm ready to go camping now.

The Zoo!

A few weeks ago during Scott's spring break I took a day off and we decided to take Rivers to the Zoo.
He loved it!!
Ok in all fairness he has always enjoyed the Zoo and loves animals.
I didn't get as many photos as I would like, but the ones I got were pretty good.
He's getting really good at repeating what you say, like "zoo" and "bird"
I understand him even though it still sounds a bit primative.
Looking for the Sloth, but only pointing out all the birds, he loves birds.
The turtle was walking and he thought that was just the coolest thing!

It was a fun day and a bit breezy, but He loved running around
and showing off for the other kids.
I see more trips to the Zoo in our future.

catch up

hello blog followers, how have you been?  I have been well.
Here is what you've missed.
Christmas was AWESOME!  Super spoiled and spoiled some well deserving boys.  I myself had an amazing Christmas.
New Year was pretty fun, it included being cold, Clue, and Scott trying to light things on fire.
January I went through my seasonal depression which is why I haven't blogged for so long... Happened every year, I cry.  I feel sad.  I hate everything and think everyone hates me.  It passes, the world goes on, I stand in the sun like Superman to re-charge.  Life is good again
2 pregnancy scares, not pregnant, not trying, just out of whack body :)
Started watching Sweet Jenna!
Jenna and Rivers in their Valentines get ups!

Rivers isn't looking for anything long term.  He's keeping his options open :)
They were supposed to decorate these, but chose to eat them instead.  They were from Sweet Tooth Fairy so I can't blame them :)

Valentines day was awesome!!  I felt so loved.  I got home from a crazy night at work and look at all the treats I got!!!  I had no idea I had any friends :)
Rivers and I watched a sweetie named Jenna for a bit, she was so fun to have over and got Rivers to eat healthy foods, she is more than welcome any time!
Young Women's has been awesome, by far my favorite calling yet!
March has been a blast!  I got been "birthday saving" so I can go out to eat.  Last month I was having a bad day so I went online and filled out birthday stuff from various restaurants.  I'm going to be fat by the end of the month... good thing I'm working out.
End of February Rivers and I got really sick :(
Lots of snuggles and naps...
to top that off, last Monday Scott and I both got food poisoning, not fun guys!
Nothing is more sad than hearing your husband be sickie.
Luckily Rivers is really picky and won't eat anything so he avoided the whole mess, lucky guy.
Today we are going to the Zoo
Saturday we have much St. Patrick's day stuff to do including a parade, the Irish festival, and my family party!! plus I'm cooking corn beef and potatoes (because cabbage is yucky), and making a green dessert.  Not sure what yet, but pinterest will help me.
So.  Do you feel informed?
